Most arrivals hit the same wall at the car dealership: no UK credit history, a driving licence the dealership doesn't recognise, a car priced for a market that works on different rules, insurance quotes that look like a typo, and ULEZ charges nobody warned them about. It's a stressful, expensive few months for people who've already done the hardest part by relocating. We thought it didn't need to be.
What we do
We're a UK automotive consultancy specifically for South Africans arriving in the UK. We help with car sourcing, ULEZ compliance, the licence exchange process, and the practical groundwork of buying and running a car in the UK. For finance and insurance, we work with trusted FCA-regulated brokers and refer clients to them directly — we're a consultancy, not a regulated financial services firm.
Some clients work with us for a single decision; others use us through their first year of UK car ownership.
Andrew and Peter
WBAuto is run by Andrew Walker and Peter Walker (no relation, despite the surname).
Andrew is the client-facing partner. He brings 30 years of South African motoring experience — motor journalism and motoring services. When you book a Discovery Session, you'll speak to Andrew.
Peter brings 30 years of business experience, having set up multiple businesses in South Africa and the UK. He's not client-facing — he runs the infrastructure behind WBAuto so Andrew can focus on the work that matters.
