The terms that govern our services

1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use the website wbauto.co.uk or engage WBAuto for consultancy services. By using our website or services, you agree to these terms.
WBAuto is a trading name of WhiteBirch Group Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 12598211). Registered office: 3rd Floor, 86-90 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NE.
2. What WBAuto is, and is not
2.1 WBAuto is an automotive consultancy. We provide guidance, research, and practical support to help you buy, finance, insure, and run a car in the UK.
2.2 WBAuto is NOT authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). We do not provide financial advice, arrange finance agreements, or act as an insurance intermediary. When finance or insurance is relevant to your situation, we refer you to FCA-authorised brokers and lenders. Any such referral is clearly identified, and any commission we receive from a referral partner is disclosed to you in writing before you commit.
2.3 WBAuto is not a car dealership and does not sell vehicles. We are not a vehicle inspector, mechanic, or warranty provider. We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and do not provide financial advice, arrange finance agreements, act as an insurance intermediary, or assess affordability. We are not solicitors, tax advisers, or immigration advisers. Where any of these specialisms is relevant to your situation, we will direct you to the appropriate authorised or qualified provider.
2.4WBAuto is part of WhiteBirch Group Ltd, which also operates WBForex (wbforex.com), a foreign exchange and financial emigration service for South African expats. WBForex is a Juristic Representative of an FSCA-authorised financial services provider. WBAuto and WBForex are operationally separate brands with separate teams and separate compliance perimeters. Any reference, link, or referral between the two brands does not extend either brand's regulatory permissions to the other.
3. Our services
Our consultancy services may include:
- Needs assessment and car-buying strategy
- Vehicle sourcing across the UK market
- HPI and vehicle history checks
- ULEZ, CAZ, and emission zone compliance checks
- Dealer negotiation support
- Guidance on SA driving licence exchange (DVLA process)
- Referral to FCA-authorised finance brokers
- Referral to insurance brokers who accept overseas no-claims history
- Free Vehicle Check tool (MOT history, vehicle specification, road tax cohort, CAZ compliance, annual running cost estimates)
- Free MOT Reminder Service (email reminders 30 days and 7 days before MOT expiry)
- Post-purchase support and ongoing guidance
4. Fees and payment
- Our fees are fixed and agreed in writing before any paid work begins.
- The free Discovery Session (30 minutes) carries no charge and no obligation.
- Package fees are payable in full before work commences, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- All prices include VAT where applicable.
- If we cannot source a suitable vehicle within the agreed scope, the sourcing element of your fee is refundable. Administrative and advisory elements are not refundable.
5. Referrals and commissions
Where we refer you to a third-party broker, lender, or service provider:
- The referral is made to an FCA-authorised firm (for finance and insurance) or a reputable provider (for other services).
- We may receive a referral fee or commission from that provider. If we do, we will disclose this to you in writing.
- You are under no obligation to use any provider we refer you to.
- The referred provider's own terms and conditions will apply to any agreement you enter into with them.
6. Our liability
6.1 Our advice is based on information available to us at the time. We are not liable for changes in market conditions, regulatory changes, or third-party decisions after advice is given.
6.2 We do not guarantee the outcome of any finance or insurance application; these are decisions made by the lender or insurer, not by WBAuto.
6.3 Vehicle information provided by our tools (including the free Vehicle Check) relies on third-party data sources (DVSA, DVLA, Experian, HPI databases, and other licensed commercial providers). While we take reasonable care, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of third-party data.
6.4Our total liability for any claim arising from a paid service is limited to the fee you paid for the relevant service package. Where a service is provided free of charge (including the free Vehicle Check tool, the MOT Reminder Service, and any free Discovery Session), our total liability for any claim arising from that service is limited to £100 in aggregate.
6.5 Nothing in this Section 6 limits our liability for death, personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
7. Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate information about your situation, needs, and budget.
- Make your own decision on any vehicle purchase, finance agreement, or insurance policy. Our role is advisory.
- Conduct your own independent checks if you wish, in addition to any checks we provide.
- Keep login credentials and personal data secure.
8. Intellectual property
All content on wbauto.co.uk, including text, images, design, code, guides, and tools, is owned by WhiteBirch Group Ltd or used under licence. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit any content without our written permission.
9. Free Vehicle Check tool
9.1 The free Vehicle Check tool at wbauto.co.uk/vehicle-check provides vehicle information sourced from third-party APIs operated by the DVSA, DVLA, Experian, and other licensed commercial providers. Information includes (where available) vehicle specification, MOT history and mileage, road tax cohort, Clean Air Zone compliance, and an estimate of annual running costs.
9.2 To use the full Vehicle Check, you provide an email address. By submitting your email, you consent to:
- (a) us using the email to send you the Vehicle Check result and related buyer's guidance;
- (b) us holding your email address and the registration you submitted in our customer database operated through our service providers;
- (c) us contacting you with educational content about car ownership in the UK and (if relevant to your circumstances) WBAuto's paid services. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by emailing hello@wbauto.co.uk.
9.3 By design, the free Vehicle Check does not display every data point available about a vehicle. Where we do not have a current authoritative data feed (for example, live tax status, expensive-car-supplement applicability, or outstanding safety recalls), we link to the relevant gov.uk page so you can check at source rather than displaying potentially inaccurate or stale information. This is intentional and not a fault of the service.
9.4 The Vehicle Check is provided for informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for a physical vehicle inspection, an HPI/provenance check (which we offer as a paid service), or your own due diligence before purchase. You should not rely on the free Vehicle Check as the sole basis for any vehicle purchase, finance, or insurance decision.
9.5 We rely on third-party data sources (including DVSA, DVLA, Experian, and other licensed providers) and cannot guarantee the accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of source data. Where source data is incorrect, the Vehicle Check output will reflect that incorrectness.
9.6 You may use the Vehicle Check tool for your own personal, non-commercial purposes only. Automated access, scraping, bulk querying, or commercial resale of Vehicle Check data is prohibited and may be blocked.
10. MOT Reminder Service
10.1The free MOT Reminder Service sends you email reminders 30 days and 7 days before your vehicle's MOT expiry date, based on the registration you submitted.
10.2Reminder dates are derived from DVSA's MOT history database. We cannot guarantee that DVSA's recorded expiry date is correct. You remain responsible for ensuring your vehicle has a valid MOT, regardless of whether you receive a reminder from us.
10.3 You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in any reminder email. On unsubscribe, your reminder record is deactivated. We retain a minimal record of your unsubscribe preference to ensure we do not contact you again.
10.4 We are not liable for any consequence of a missed or delayed reminder, including (without limitation) penalties, fines, or insurance complications resulting from driving a vehicle without a valid MOT.
11. Cancellation
- You may cancel a service package within 14 days of purchase if no material work has commenced, in accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
- If work has commenced with your agreement within the 14-day period, you will be charged for work completed.
- After 14 days, cancellations are at our discretion and any refund will reflect work already completed.
12. Complaints
If you are unhappy with our service, email hello@wbauto.co.uk. We will acknowledge your complaint within 3 business days and aim to resolve it within 14 business days.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes take effect when published on this page. Continued use of our website or services constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
